The challenges in the aerospace and defense vertical are like no other.
A conventional, cabled, expansive, permanent installation just doesn’t work in this extremely specific setting. Networking cable is often dedicated, the numbers of access points required are numerous and the channels must be constantly managed.
The RFind system does not require an 802.11 infrastructure as its topography backbone. Tag to Tag™ Communication Technology was designed exactly for the unique environment of aerospace and defense. The reference tags which form the fixed points, or triangulation points of the system, are wireless and therefore can be placed anywhere. Even if the facilities’ supporting framework is not uniform, the tags can be affixed to any surface, by different methods, providing an accurate and affordable solution. This wireless feature allows the flexibility to move the tags if the work cells change or new equipment is introduced. If your work cells are dynamic, the RFind system is dynamic right along with it.
The tags are rugged and IP67, with the sturdiest shape in the industry; circular, convexed, impact resistant: perfect for the wear and tear of this business.
Manual searching for parts, tools, WIP racks and specialty components is eliminated with RFind’s Real Time Locating System. Mapping of all shop orders are accessible through workstations, PC’s, laptops or handheld devices.
All information is accessible for logging and reporting. The system can be run
as a stand alone, or use the standard API for easy integration into enterprise applications such as ERP, MES, and IMS. You don’t need to roll out the entire platform on day one. It’s easily scalable: match your deployment with your budget. To determine a tag X,Y location (not a zone as in beaconing applications) the system accesses a database for computation. This provides security so that all locating is done within the software, the locating data isn’t accessible to unauthorized individuals trying to access or bridge into the system.
